Picture
Monday 7 January 2019

A fun, interactive, inclusive Goal Setting Party run by Aleesah Darlison, award-winning and internationally published children's author. Suits Ages 7 - 14 years.

Hours: 8:30am - 12:00pm. Registration commences at 8:30am and the workshop starts at 9:00am sharp.

Venue: Alcooringa Youth & Community Centre, 176 Ballinger Road, Buderim, Sunshine Coast, QLD.

The start of the new year is the perfect time for children to set goals they wish to achieve for the coming twelve months.

A vision board is a collage representing POSITIVE things you’d like to attract to your life.
Vision boards can focus on something specific, like academic endeavours, sport, friendships, behaviours, personal development, or general goals for the year.

Or visions boards can encompass overall or ‘bigger picture’ life desires, dreams, hopes and wishes.

The benefits of making vision boards have been widely espoused and these include:
  1. Gets kids focused on being positive
  2. Provides kids with a sense of empowerment and control over how they want to live their lives
  3. Identifies goals and gives them clarity
  4. Provides goals to aim for – either in the short or long term
  5. Creates a powerful, visual tool that represents dreams and desires that kids can make come true
  6. Reinforces daily affirmations
  7. Keeps attention on intentions
  8. Allows kids to choose and follow strong role models
  9. When displayed in a prominent place, becomes a permanent, visual reminder of goals to strive for
  10. Keeps kids active, creative and socialising

In this fun, hands-on, creative workshop, children will plan and assess their goals for 2019. They will then set about creating and decorating a large vision board that includes their goals set out as pictures, text, artwork, wordart, drawings, diagrams, and inspirational quotes.

We will be sharing our completed Vision Boards at the end of the workshop.
